What Do I Need To Make Cartoons?

You just need:
A strong relationship with Jesus Christ - The most important thing we could ever have is our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. He should be our first priority (Matthew 6:33). God commands us to walk in love. Love God with all your heart and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. Cartoons have a powerful influence and the messages or stories can be used to save souls or lead them astray. God wants you to use your gifts for him and not out of selfish ambition or pride. Cartoons should be used to help, encourage, edify, and impact people. God gave us gifts, and our gift to him is to give them back to him by using them the way he intended for us to use them, for his glory and his purposes. Cartoons are a tool which can be used for good, or abused for bad.
A computer - To make the cartoon.
A internet connection - For research, find software downloads, communicate with people about ideas, and promote your cartoon
Creativity - Drawing, Music, and Writing are a big part of making cartoons. You may be good at one or two of them, maybe all of them, or maybe not at all. Find out what you are good at and get better at it.
Learn - Learn about how multimedia works, learn how cartoons are made, read books, read magazines, look up tutorials, play with software and learn from experience, find someone who is good at making videos, music, or animation and ask them to teach you
Software - Find whatever software you feel most comfortable using to create cartoons. - There is no set formula to making a cartoon or animation, just find software that works and run with it.

How Did Lil NuYu Come Across Software For Making Cartoons?

When I was younger I always wondered what kind of software I needed to make cartoons. I also wanted to know if I needed a special kind of computer. In those days it was hard for me to find the right kind of software to do the things I wanted. I always opened Windows Paint and made pictures and wondered if there was any software that could make my character drawings move or animate. I didn't have internet access at the time and when I first started using the internet at my house, my family had dial up. All I had was library books to inspire me. I read so that I could learn so that one day if I ever got the tools I needed to make something, I would know how. When I was using dial up, my internet was real slow. I was limited to my findings of software. One day I learned about downloading, so I looked on the internet and didn't find a whole lot of free stuff, but I did find some free software that I could play around with. I went to search engines such as Google and typed "Free animation software". I also typed "Free 3d software". Basically anything that matched my interest in animation, I wanted to see if I could have it. The free software that I found, I would download and let it finish downloading over night (usually no one allowed me to download because our internet was slow). I found some GIF Animation software, and afew other free software that I learned. I used Anim8or which is a free 3d modeling program.
Fast forward to some years ahead I had already learned from some books I borrowed from the library. I was introduced to Barnes And Noble bookstore in Jr. High because my English teacher took us on a field trip there, so since then I have stuck around either the computer section, the magazines, the bargain priced books, and the Starbucks Coffee! I have bought several books from Barnes And Noble and even got free cds from Magazines related to computers, 3d, graphics design, and websites. I have faster internet now, so I am able to find things faster. Internet has got a lot farther in it's timeline, and more people have been using internet for awhile now while technology is still rapidly advancing. There are more websites, more people have grown up and learned to make something new and better, newer updates of existing software have come along, new software and hardware have come, and so there is alot more free high quality software which can be easily found now days. We are blessed to have more technology available today than we did yesterday, We just have to use it in the right ways.
